How to imagine a world without cars? That's the mission the EPFL's labs Lab-U and LASUR, with few swiss schools, took. We were part of this research during a semester. We decided to replicate the Paris metro within the territory studied. Constructing six lines of metro, we proposed to serve the maximum of existing towns and villages. Oriented along the shore of the lake between Lausanne and Geneva, the proposition permitted a coverage of the entire territory with a maximum travel time of 1 hour and 15 minutes. This infrastructure changed also the village scale, promising some of them to densification while leaving some others abandoned.
